Personal data that we process

The Turn The Tide Foundation processes your personal data because you provide this data to us yourself.

Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we process:

  • If you donate to a cause: the name of the cause

For what purpose and on what basis we process personal data

The Turn The Tide Foundation processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Sending our e-mail newsletter (if registered)
  2. Sending our newsletter by post (if registered)
  3. To be able to email you when a donation goal has been reached
  4. To be able to thank you for donations


Your data is managed by the following systems:


We use MailChimp to send our e-mail newsletter. The moment you have registered for our e-mail newsletter, your e-mail address will be stored in the intended list within MailChimp.

We store the following data in MailChimp:

  1. Name
  2. E-mail address

We have concluded a processing agreement with MailChimp.


We use Mollie to handle donations. Through the “Donate with Mollie” plugin, all data of your donation is passed on to Mollie. Your name and e-mail address are also stored here.

How long we keep personal data

The Turn The Tide Foundation does not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to realize the purposes for which your data is collected. We use the following retention periods for the following (categories) of personal data:

– Sending e-mail newsletters: Your e-mail address and name are stored in MailChimp. This data remains stored there for an indefinite period of time. If you unsubscribe from these newsletters, this does not immediately mean that all your data has been deleted. If you wish, please send an e-mail to to have this arranged.

Donate: Your name and e-mail address will remain stored in the database after a donation. This data will be manually deleted within 1 year by an employee of the organization, unless the donation is intended for a goal that has not yet been achieved. In that case, the data will remain stored until the goal is achieved or stopped. The data stored at Mollie will be kept for an indefinite period of time, because they are part of the transaction history.

Sharing personal data with third parties

The Turn The Tide Foundation does not sell your information to third parties and will only provide it if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. The Turn The Tide Foundation remains the point of contact for these processing operations.

How we protect personal data

No physical copies are made of your personal data. Your data is only managed in the systems and software mentioned above.

The personal data managed by the Turn The Tide Foundation or by the aforementioned third parties can only be accessed via the above software and is protected by a password.

In addition, your visit to our website is secured by an SSL certificate. This means that your connection to our website is private. You can recognize this security by the lock in the address bar.
